A new sound is tinkling through the air at Othandweni Family Care Centre in Soweto. It’s the sound of children squealing with happiness as they explore their awesome new playground!

This amazing new interactive outdoor space with state-of-the-art equipment was generously donated by Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children.

it’s brought much joy to the 90 children at Othandweni since it was completed in August. The children love the area and are getting their daily exercise and learning as they play. The playground will contribute greatly to brain development, physical growth, social skills, and emotional well-being.

It’s the first of four playgrounds that Spence-Chapin is donating to JCW as part of Project Play. Construction on a second playground at Princess Alice Children’s Home is set to begin soon.

We thank Spence-Chapin from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful gift; and thank Walt Landscape Architects for bringing this vision to life.
