As part of the Fast Fest charity initiative, Formula 1 hosted a Copier vs. Copier race on the 3rd of April 2016, held at the Brakpan Airstrip in Johannesburg. It was sponsored by OKI and PrintaCom. This event draws huge crowds of petrol heads who attend it for the thrill of watching turbo-charged cars speed down the run way. The charity segment incorporated, a Copier vs. Copier race competition. A copier machine put inside a trolley with a team of four individuals each pushing it to the finish line became the most exciting challenge as we saw tensions rising from the individual teams trying to get the trolley to the finish line. The wining team received R10 000 which was given to the event`s charity beneficiary Jo`burg Child Welfare (JCW).
Just when we thought the day was over, the organizers showed us what the event is best known for. A Lamborghini race left people feeling like they were watching Fast and the Furious in 3D and were thrilled to watch what the beautiful car was capable of. There was the additional thrill of watching a chopper race the Lamborghini.
Additional entertainment for the spectators included a motorbike air stunt display. The motorbikes stunt riders did not waste any time as they showed off their breath taking stunts that left the whole crowd in worry and excitement at the same time.
This event is the best hang out for petrol die-hards but the perfect weather, stalls that serve various food offerings and breath taking moments make it a worthwhile family outing. We at JCW are grateful to OKI for their generous support.
